MidCamp 2018 planning is underway! There are a ton of things to do, so jump into Slack and let us know how you’d like to contribute. Here’s what we’ve got going on so far.
Website
The new Drupal 8 website is up and running on Amazee.io. I am loving the docker workflow! Hit me up in Slack (@zendoodles) if you’d like help getting things set up locally so you can help with the web site.
Ashley did some wonderful things this year and last for our MidCamp Styleguide. You can see it in action too! Thanks Ashley!
We are tracking website work to be done in a GitHub project. If you’re a project manager and would like to help defining the things and keeping us on track, we’d love your contributions! Reach out to @froboy or @zendoodles in Slack.
We could use more designer help to add components to the styleguide for sponsor pages, user menus, internal pages, the job board, error messages, login page, attendee profiles, speaker profiles, and many things I’m sure I’m not thinking of.
Lauren, Avi and Andrea are working to get session submissions open ASAP. If you’d like to help, reach out to us in Slack!
Right now we also have a pretty big need for someone to help with theming. There is work underway to get the job board up and sponsors onto the website, but the theming is still outstanding for these things.
Logistics
Our venue is confirmed for DePaul University, and we’re real excited to be in the same space two years in a row. We’ve reserved a few more rooms than last year and are considering some ideas for how to use this space. And we’ve secured the third floor for Thursday sprints, so that should be a smoother day compared to last year.
Kevin requested the deposit check from the Drupal Association for DePaul, and we’re also waiting on insurance paperwork.
Upcoming work involves switching over lunch catering to make use of the cafeteria, plus t-shirt and other print design.
Training and Sessions
We reached out to a possible Keynote and are looking forward to announcing once we get a confirmation. We are still working to get session and training submissions open on the website ASAP.
